I can proudly say that I opened Plymouth’s first Registered Nurse led Aesthetic Clinic back in 2005, after I had a bad experience whilst undergoing an aesthetic treatment in a local beauty therapist salon here the previous year. It literally set off one of those light bulb moments in me. At the time, for women in Plymouth the only choice for treatments was to be herded into a room on mass one Sunday a month to see someone who was visiting the area, or, they had to travel miles to find a good practitioner. Yes, I am also guilty of not doing my homework. So, I trained in all areas of Aesthetics and with zero business knowledge set up a clinic here in Plymouth – against the best intended advice from many people who believed I was crazy as they didn’t think there was a market for it! It was before social media, influencers, phone filters etc so I had to rely on word of mouth from happy patients. I can honestly say I have never looked back. Although sadly the Aesthetic World has gone crazy, and there is still no regulations.  Even if I am not the practitioner for you, make wise decisions and choose a medical practitioner, after all its your face that will ultimately pay the price!
